In class, to get our creativity to begin flowing, we would write a 5-minute “free write” about a given topic, usually related to what we would be working on in class that day. Two of the free writes that I decided to include are below:
My Favorite Fall Season
My favorite feature of fall is the very noticeable changes that occur. You wake up one morning and the air feels more crisp than usual. The trees start to add some color to them, the weather changes and gets cooler. It suddenly feels like sweater weather, shorts and tank season is gone. I like the music change, it becomes slower, deeper, and less “energetic,” and it tends to just scream fall. You can feel the birth-hallow-thanks-mas coming, and it feels like the best time of year. I love the immediately recognizable fall scents, like apple cider, cinnamon, and pumpkin. Limited edition drinks come back to the menus. Candy corn comes back too! Also fall nails.
FRIENDS
Friends is a show that has a target audience for practically anyone, it mainly appeals to those with at least some sense of humor, those who enjoy family-like, hearty, relationships, and even some drama in between. There is a relationship built between all of the characters and we get to know an even amount for each of them – there is no one friend that is more significant than the rest at any point in this show. At first, the show really captured my attention because of the immediate jokes that were being made, by what were originally only acquaintances. Watching their friendships and relationships develop throughout the show is what truly had me in a chokehold. I loved every dynamic between the group, and watching their happy endings after ten years was the perfect ending to the show.
